Let's face it... summer is quickly coming to end. Wether you're back to work, never left the office or still enjoying your time away, go grab yourself a cup of molecular coffee and catch up on what's new in This Month in Food.

Back to it... our friends at Kickstart announced their recent cohort (including 10 in food & retail), Swiss startup Faitron expands into Asia, and personalised nutritional supplement startup Baze raises $6m to continue their expansion in the US. Which leaves me asking myself, is there a point in the life of a Swiss startup where they need to go abroad in order to continue growing? Let me know. 

Outside of Switzerland, climate change continues to threaten our food supply, plant-based alternatives are big business and it's getting fishy, Deliveroo pulls out of Germany, Kraft Heinz is trying to make a comeback, Hazel raises $13m to fight food waste and extend products shelf life, RX bar expands into the $1.3B hot cereals category, your next takeout could very well come from a ghost kitchencan food and beverage giants innovate? some seek the answer in cannabis. And lastly, looks like "being the sober one" is now cooler than ever as the nonalcoholic spirits brand Seedlip get's acquired and the non-alcoholic beer market is buzzing.
