Why Food Waste ?

In Switzerland, two million tonnes of food are thrown away a year. FoodHack Geneva’s goals go beyond the solutions that will be created during the event, and aim to also raise awareness of food waste with the general public as Swiss households account to 45% of all food waste in Switzerland.

Why Food Related Emissions?

Our food choices are responsible for 30% of man-made greenhouse gas emissions. This accounts for more than 2.7 tons of CO₂ per person per year in US and Europe. We have the potential to reduce food related emissions by at least 50% through smart diet choices
